About Journal

The Arab Journal of Nuclear Sciences and Application is a scientific periodical published by the Egyptian Society of Nuclear Sciences and Application. The journal publishes different scientific work related to nuclear sciences and application. The journal appears annually in four issues in January, April, July and October. Special issues which address special occasions are published un-periodically. All papers are published after careful refereeing by subject specials.


Instructions to Authors

  • All Correspondence should be addressed to the Executive Editing Secretary (Prof. Dr. H.f. Aly, Atomic Energy Authority, 3 Ahmed El-Zomor St., Nasr City, Cairo.


 Scope of the Journal:

  • The Arab Journal of Nuclear Sciences and Applications is a multidisciplinary periodical that accepts scientific contributions in all fields of atomic and nuclear sciences and their applications;

  •  A research paper submitted for publication in the Journal should represent an original work and should not have been previously published or submitted later for publication elsewhere; 

  •  Manuscripts are submitted in English.


 Typing Instructions and Formats

  • Manuscripts should be submitted camera ready, laser printed on a high quality paper (A4 size). An Electronic copy of the manuscript should also be submitted. The font used should be Times New Roman using Microsoft Word. The printed area for all pages is restricted (page set up Top 3.5 cm, Bottom 3 cm, Left 2.5 cm and Right 2.5 cm).

  • Typing should be single spaced, paragraphs being separated by one space. The first line in each paragraph starts after leaving three spaces.

  • Pages should be left without printed numbering, but with small numbers in pencil on the back side to keep the right sequence.

  • The Title of manuscript should be center-lined, with font size 14. It should be in bold letters, the first letter in each word should be in capital, e.g.

 

Studies on the Radiation Lethality of Mammals using some....

  • After an empty line the author(s) initial(s) and surname(s), without titles, are written, centered, in bold letters, e.g.

 

E.A. El-Komy, A.I. Helal and H.F. Aly

 

  • In the following line, the name and address of the laboratory and institute where the work has been performed are written, center-lined, in italic letters, e.g.

 

Nuclear Physics Department, Nuclear Research Center,

Atomic Energy Authority, Cairo, Egypt

 

  • The e-mail of the corresponding author could be added as a foot note at the end of the first page.

  • After two empty lines, an abstract should come in about 120 words under the heading ABSTRACT. The width of the abstract area is only 14 cm and it should be centered and written in bold letters.

  • An empty line is left, then 3 to 5 key words, related to the subject of the publication typed in bold italic letters, are written e.g.:

 

Key Words: Uranium Extraction / Radioisotope Production.

  • Main headings (e.g. Introduction, Results, Discussion, Conclusions, and References) should be center-lined, in bold capital letters and should not be numbered.

  • Subtitles should be in bold letters; the first letter in each word should be capital and may numbered.

  •  Figures should be carefully drawn with captions below the figure in bold letters in the same font (11) as the rest of the text. In case photographs are included they should be very clear.

  • Tables should include their own captions, written above each table in bold letters in the same font (11) as the rest of the text. They can be diminished to fit the size of the printing area, provided they remain clearly readable. All abbreviations should be explained as footnotes directly below the table avoiding shaded areas.

  • Tables and Figures should be embedded in the text as long as they do not occupy full pages. They should be inserted in their proper places in the manuscript.

  • Equations and reactions should be numbered consequently. Their numbers should appear right justified between curved brackets.

References:

  • References are marked consecutively in the text in Arabic numerals as superscripts in curved brackets, e.g. Several authors(1-3) have studied this effect...

  • A complete list of references should be given at the end of the manuscript in the same numerical order including title of paper, e.g.

  • Conference proceedings must be indicated with pages, address and date.

  •  Citations such as "unpublished work" or "personal communication" should be avoided.

Processing of Manuscripts:

  • Manuscripts shall be examined by specialized refrees, and the referee comments will be communicated to the corresponding author for revision.

  • After final processing, and authorized statements for acceptance, or rejection, is communicated to the corresponding author.

  •  After final acceptance, the paper will be published with indication of the first date of receipt, and date of acceptance.

  •  The finally accepted paper should be submitted for publication in an electronic version in addition to the hard copy.

Fees and Reprints:

  • Preliminary fees of 100L.E. (or the equivalent in US$) should be paid with the first presentation of the manuscript.

  • The Cost. per page of the final accepted manuscript is 45 L.E. for members of the society and 50 L.E. for non- members (or the equivalent in US$).
